After my earlier gripe that Marvel ComicsMedia retconned the sexuality of their most visible and consistently published bisexual anti-hero in order to give Magneto a girlfriend, a fair number of people objected by saying arguing that it was necessary to create a streamlined narrative in response, I'll give you Dr. Who, Episode 6.7, "A Good Man Goes to War."

In 1966, a toy company in Newark, New Jersey released a children's record called Batman and Robin to cash in on the popular Adam West TV series of the same name. The music on the LP was credited to "The Sensational Guitars of Dan and Dale," but in fact the band was one of the greatest uncredited session combos of all time, including the core of Sun Ra's Arkestra and Al Kooper's Blues Project. To keep the music licensing fees to a minimum, all the tracks were based on public domain items like Chopin's Polonaise Op. 53, the horn theme from Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony and the love theme from Romeo and Juliet, and generic rock riffs. It's all instrumental, with the exception of Robin's Theme (MP3), featuring an uncredited vocalist who I hope some reader will be able identify. More info on the Italian boot reissue of this record here and here.

The music is available for download.

A nice review of "motion comics" that can be summed up in one animated gif:

Honestly, I don't know how much time I'll spend on the game but CoH has something that I've really felt lacking from WoW: character customization. And I've found that I can get generally good results from a few minor tweaks.

I have to admit, the McFarlaine toys attract me for about 10 minutes, before I remember that the love-fest surrounding him in the 90s encouraged me to drop out of comics. But this is just beyond lame, I give you Santa

Wow, a santa figure that is derivative of at least three different horror movies. Then you have the Mrs. Claus which gives us the obligatory Frank Miller love-in.

Speaking of Frank Miller, Frank Miller, meet Martha Wash.

Now that the draft is done and tossed into the editing review blender, I now have more time on my hands for hitting myself in the crotch with a rubber mallet repeatedly looking for a real job and other more pleasurable things. I am playing Baldur's Gate II again after a few years. Becoming an obsessive fan over a queer independent comic, and finding a community that reads comics in much the same way I do.

In recent months, I've become a big fan of Girls Read Comics, and They're Pissed for expressing some of the things that really irritate me about comic books. So I hit the comics store for my weekly dose of superhero teen angst, and what greets me in the opening spread of Teen Titans #43?

I'll put the images, salty language, and extended rants behind a cut.
